Client: Topsail Technologies, Durham, North Carolina, USA

About the project: The former American Tobacco manufacturing plant in Durham, NC has been reborn into the American Tobacco District. It is anchored by one million square feet of multi-use space, including the Durham Performing Arts Center and the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
Topsail Technologies was tasked with redesigning the American Tobacco Campus intranet with the intent to make it user-friendly and tie into several web-based apps the client had in place to handle things like parking, ID badges, and building maintenance requests.

My Role: I was asked to develop a look and feel for the site. In doing so, I chose to draw inspiration from architectural design and signage that makes the American Tobacco Campus a unique place to work, a historic landmark and tourist attraction. After spending some time on the campus and talking to people who worked there, The folks at Topsail Tech thought an online campus newsletter, featuring buy and sell classifieds and upcoming campus event and alerts sections would attract campus workers to the new portal and keep them coming back to the site.
